Super Bowl LIX is shaping up to be a spectacle both on and off the field. Millions will tune in on Sunday, February 9th, not just for the clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, but also for the star-studded entertainment lineup. The Chiefs, fresh off a nail-biting victory over the Buffalo Bills, are aiming for a historic three consecutive Super Bowl wins.The Eagles, after a dominant performance against the Washington Commanders, are equally hungry for victory.

Adding to the excitement is the highly anticipated Halftime Show, headlined by Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar, with SZA making a special guest appearance. Lamar’s performance follows his impressive five Grammy wins, further cementing his status as a musical powerhouse. But the entertainment begins even before kickoff, with a pre-game showcase of New Orleans talent.

This year’s pre-game festivities will celebrate New Orleans’ rich musical heritage. Jon Batiste, a multi-talented musician and composer with five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, will sing the National Anthem.Batiste, a New Orleans native, has also composed for film and television, including the score for the movie “Saturday Night.”He follows in the footsteps of country music star Reba McEntire, who performed the anthem at Super Bowl LVIII.

“America the Beautiful” will be performed by another New Orleans native, Trombone Shorty, alongside Christian music singer Lauren Daigle.Trombone Shorty, a five-time Grammy winner, has collaborated with numerous renowned artists and performed at prestigious events worldwide.Daigle, also a Grammy winner, rose to prominence after appearing on “American Idol” and has achieved significant crossover success.

“Lift Every Voice and Sing,” often referred to as the “Black National Anthem,” will be performed by Ledisi, a Grammy-winning vocalist and actress. Ledisi has a successful music career and has portrayed musical icons in film and television.Her performance will continue the tradition of honoring this powerful hymn at the Super Bowl.

The pre-game performances are scheduled to begin around 6:20 p.m. ET, approximately ten minutes before the official kickoff at 6:30 p.m. ET. With a thrilling matchup on the field and a dazzling array of musical talent taking the stage, Super Bowl LIX promises to be an unforgettable event.
